Addis Ababa, December 29th 2017― The Chairperson of IGAD Council of Ministers expresses his deep concern and disappointment over the violations of the Agreement on the Cessation of Hostilities, Protection of Civilians and Humanitarian Access signed in Addis Ababa on the 21st of December, 2017 by the Parties to the conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.
The High Level Revitalization Forum was launched on December 18, 2017 by H.E Hailemariam Desalegn, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Chairperson of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government, in the presence of H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission and H.E Festus Gontebanye Mogae, Chairperson of JMEC.

The Chairperson, IGAD Council of Ministers H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia today 28 November 2017, held a consultation meeting of IGAD Council of Ministers in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on progress towards the convening of the High-Level Revitalization Forum. In attendance were representatives of Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Djibouti and Somalia.
(November 24, 2017) As part of his broad-based consultative meetings ahead of the High-Level Revitalization Forum, the IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan met IGAD partners in Juba on Friday November 24, 2017.
